Red Deer Fun Fact: A fun fact about the red deer is that during the breeding season, also known as the “rut,” males produce loud, deep roars called “bugles” to attract females and challenge rival males. These roars can be heard up to 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) away and are a key part of their mating display, helping to establish dominance in the herd.
