Vampire Moth Fun Fact: A fun fact about the vampire moth is that, unlike most moths, some species of male vampire moths can actually pierce human skin and drink blood! They use their sharp, needle-like proboscis to feed on blood, much like a mosquito. While this behavior isn’t common and doesn’t pose a significant threat to humans, it gives them their spooky name!
