Ghost Shark Fun Fact: A fun fact about the ghost shark, also known as a chimaera, is that it has a skeleton made entirely of cartilage, much like sharks, but it’s not actually a true shark! These deep-sea creatures have a unique, almost otherworldly appearance with a smooth, translucent body and large, wing-like pectoral fins. Ghost sharks also have a special sensory organ on their snouts, which they use to detect the electrical fields of prey in the dark depths of the ocean.
